Our Mission

At the Turtle Island Project (TIP), we believe in turning dialogue into action — Reconcili-action — for non-Indigenous, newcomer, and Canadian-born participants alike.

Through our unique Experiential Exercise, we create a safe and authentic space where open, respectful conversation can take place. Here, participants are encouraged to explore shared ground between Indigenous and newcomer communities, fostering mutual understanding and connection.

TIP facilitates meaningful opportunities for individuals to actively engage in reconciliation and build genuine, respectful relationships with Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

We help newcomer Canadians deepen their awareness of their roles and responsibilities in this country — embracing the principle that “We Are All Treaty People.”

Above all, the Turtle Island Project is committed to dismantling myths and misinformation, shining light on truths, and helping build a stronger, more informed and unified future for everyone who calls Turtle Island home.
